Shloka 316

युगान्ते सर्वभूतानि संवर्तक इवानल: । भरतनन्दन! जैसे प्रलयकालमें संवर्तक अग्नि सब प्राणियोंको जलाकर भस्म कर देती है, उसी प्रकार उस आग्नेयास्त्रने पाण्डवोंकी उस भयभीत सेनाको युद्धस्थलमें जलाना आरम्भ कर दिया

yugānte sarvabhūtāni saṃvartaka ivānalaḥ | bharatanandana! yathā pralayakāle saṃvartakāgniḥ sarvaprāṇinaḥ dagdhvā bhasmasāt karoti, tathā tad āgneyāstraṃ yuddhasthale pāṇḍavānāṃ tāṃ bhayabhītāṃ senāṃ dagdhum ārabdhavat ||

సంజయుడు పలికెను—భరతనందనా! యుగాంతంలో సంభర్తకాగ్ని సమస్త ప్రాణులను దహించి భస్మం చేయునట్లు, అలాగే ఆ ఆగ్నేయాస్త్రం యుద్ధభూమిలో పాండవుల భీతిగ్రస్త సేనను దహించుటకు ఆరంభించింది.
