yatra yatra tu pāṇḍūnāṃ droṇo drāvayate camūm

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights battlefield responsibility: when a powerful adversary causes one’s forces to break, a leader must recognize the critical points of collapse and respond decisively to protect the army and uphold the cause.

Dhṛṣṭadyumna observes that Droṇa is repeatedly routing the Pāṇḍava host in various places on the field, implying the need to track Droṇa’s movements and counter him wherever he strikes.
