त॑ हतं संयुगे कश्चिदस्मै शंसतु मानव: । “मेरा विश्वास है कि अश्वत्थामाके मारे जानेपर ये युद्ध नहीं कर सकते। कोई मनुष्य उनसे जाकर कहे कि *युद्धमें अश्वत्थामा मारा गया'

Transliteration

taṁ hataṁ saṁyuge kaścid asmai śaṁsatu mānavaḥ |

Translation

సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఎవడైనా మనిషి అతని వద్దకు వెళ్లి ‘యుద్ధంలో అశ్వత్థామ హతుడయ్యాడు’ అని చెప్పాలి. నాకు నిశ్చయం—అది విన్న వెంటనే అతడు ఇక యుద్ధాన్ని కొనసాగించలేడు।
