सैन्येन रजसा चैव समन्तादुत्थितेन ह । सारा जगत् अंधकारसे तथा सेनाद्वारा सब ओर उड़ायी हुई धूलसे आच्छादित होनेके कारण किसीको कुछ भी ज्ञात नहीं होता था
sainyena rajasā caiva samantād utthitena ha | sārā jagat andhakāras tathā senādvārā sarva or uḍāyī huī dhūlase ācchādita honeke kāraṇa kisīko kucha bhī jñāta nahīṃ hotā thā |
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—సేనలు అన్ని దిక్కులా లేపిన ధూళి వల్ల సమస్త దృశ్యం అంధకారంలా కమ్ముకుంది. దళాలు చిమ్మిన ధూళిమేఘాలు కప్పివేయడంతో ఎవరికీ ఏదీ స్పష్టంగా తెలియలేదు—మిత్రుడో శత్రువో, దిశయో వ్యూహమో; యుద్ధస్థలమంతా గందరగోళంలో కరిగిపోయింది.
