अस्त्रैरस्त्राणि संवार्य द्रौणे: शारद्वतस्य च । मन्दवेगानिषूंस्ताभ्यामजिघांसुरवासृजत्,उन्होंने अपने अस्त्रोंद्वारा अश्वत्थामा तथा कृपाचार्यके अस्त्रोंका निवारण करके उनका वध करनेकी इच्छा न रखते हुए उनके ऊपर मन्द वेगवाले बाण चलाये
astrair astrāṇi saṃvārya drauṇeḥ śāradvatasya ca | mandavegāniṣūṃs tābhyām ajighāṃsur avāsṛjat ||
ద్రోణపుత్రుడు అశ్వత్థామా మరియు శారద్వత కృపాచార్యుల అస్త్రాలను తన అస్త్రాలతో అడ్డగించి, వారిని సంహరించదలచక, అర్జునుడు ఆ ఇద్దరిపై మందగతిగల బాణాలను విడిచాడు।
