Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that true battlefield effectiveness combines multiple virtues—strength (bala), agility (lāghava), and valor (vikrama). In the Mahābhārata’s moral vision, such capacities are ethically significant: they must be governed by dharma, otherwise they magnify harm.

Sañjaya is describing a warrior’s qualities during the Drona Parva battle narrative, emphasizing his physical prowess and proven courage as a way to frame the intensity and danger of the ongoing combat.
