Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how wrath in war can transform a warrior into an instrument of Kāla (Death), reminding readers that even when fighting for a cause, uncontrolled anger and the momentum of battle produce terrifying destruction—raising ethical reflection on violence, restraint, and the tragic cost of conflict.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Bhīma, immensely strong and enraged, is cutting down the Kaurava forces with dreadful carnage, appearing like a second embodiment of Death moving through the battlefield.
