Adhyāya 92: Irāvanta-śoka, punaḥ-pravṛttiḥ saṅgrāmasya
Arjuna’s grief and the battle’s renewed intensity
अभिमन्युस्तथा शूरो हैडिम्बश्न महारथ: । भीमसेनश्न संक्रुद्धस्तेड भ्यधावन्त कौरवान्,शूरवीर अभिमन्यु, महारथी घटोत्कच तथा क्रोधमें भरे हुए भीमसेन--इन सबने कौरवोंपर धावा किया
sañjaya uvāca | abhimanyus tathā śūro haiḍimbaś ca mahārathaḥ | bhīmasenaś ca saṅkruddhas te 'bhyadhāvanta kauravān ||
వీరుడైన అభిమన్యుడు, హైడింబ వంశ మహారథి ఘటోత్కచుడు, కోపంతో ఉప్పొంగిన భీమసేనుడు—వీరందరూ కలిసి కౌరవులపై దూకారు.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in action: when battle is joined, warriors are expected to meet the enemy with courage and solidarity. It also subtly shows the ethical tension of war—duty-driven action can be accompanied by powerful emotions like anger, which must be directed toward protection of one’s cause rather than personal cruelty.
Sañjaya reports that Abhimanyu, Ghaṭotkaca (the Haiḍimba-born mahāratha), and an enraged Bhīma collectively rush to attack the Kaurava forces, signaling an escalation and a coordinated assault by prominent Pāṇḍava champions.
