समयश्न मया पूर्व कृतो वै शत्रुकर्शन । नाहं युधि नियोक्तव्यो नाप्याचार्य: कथंचन
saṃjaya uvāca | samayaś ca mayā pūrvaṃ kṛto vai śatrukarśana | nāhaṃ yudhi niyoktavyo nāpy ācāryaḥ kathaṃcana |
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—శత్రుకర్షణా! నేను ముందే ఈ నిర్ణయం చేసుకున్నాను—ఈ యుద్ధంలో నన్ను నియమించకూడదు, ఆచార్య ద్రోణుని కూడా ఏ విధంగానూ ప్రయోగించకూడదు; ఎందుకంటే రెండు పక్షాల పట్ల సమాన స్నేహం కలవారిని పక్షపాత హింసకు బలవంతం చేయడం ధర్మం కాదు।
