भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ६२: वासुदेवमहात्म्यप्रशंसा (देव–ब्रह्मसंवादः)
तावास्थितावेकरथं सौभद्रशिनिपुड्भवौ | सौबलीं समरे सेनां शातयेतां समनन््ततः
tāv āsthitāv ekarathaṃ saubhadraśinipuṅgavau | saubalīṃ samare senāṃ śātayetāṃ samantataḥ ||
సంజయుడు అన్నాడు—వేలాది రథయోధులు అటూ ఇటూ చెదిరి పారిపోతుండగా, ఒకే రథంపై నిలిచిన సుభద్రాపుత్రుడు అభిమన్యుడు మరియు శినులలో శ్రేష్ఠుడు సాత్యకి యుద్ధభూమిలో సౌబలసేనను అన్ని వైపులా సంహరించసాగారు।
