खड़गेनान्यांश्व चिच्छेद नादेनान्यांश्व भीषयन्‌ । ऊरुवेगेन चाप्यन्यान्‌ पातयामास भूतले,उन्होंने कितने ही योद्धाओंको पैरोंसे कुचलकर मार डाला, कितनोंको ऊपर उछालकर पटक दिया, कितनोंको तलवारसे काट दिया, दूसरे कितने ही योद्धाओंको अपनी भीषण गर्जनासे डरा दिया और कितनों-को अपने महान्‌ वेगसे पृथ्वीपर दे मारा

khaḍgenānyāṁś ca ciccheda nādenānyāṁś ca bhīṣayan | ūruvegena cāpy anyān pātayāmāsa bhūtale ||

సంజయుడు పలికెను—అతడు ఖడ్గముతో అనేకులను చీల్చెను; తన భయంకర నాదముతో అనేకులను భీతిగొల్పెను; తన ఊరువేగముతో మరికొందరిని భూమిపై కూలదోసెను. అలా యుద్ధోన్మాదంలో ఎక్కడో పాదములతో నలిపి, ఎక్కడో పైకి ఎగరేసి పడేసి, ఎక్కడో ఖడ్గంతో కోసి, ఎక్కడో భయంతోనే శత్రువుల బలాన్ని క్షీణింపజేసెను.
