भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय 54: फल्गुन-प्रतिरोधः, सौबली-व्यूह-विध्वंसः, दुर्योधन-भीष्म-संवादः
पक्षकोटिप्रपक्षेषु पक्षान्तेषु च वारणा:
pakṣakoṭiprapakṣeṣu pakṣānteṣu ca vāraṇāḥ
సంజయుడు చెప్పెను—ఏనుగులను పక్షాల పార్శ్వాలలోను ప్రతిపార్శ్వాలలోను, అలాగే పక్షాంతాలలోను నిలిపిరి—యుద్ధరేఖ స్థిరంగా ఉండుటకును అకస్మాత్తుగా చీల్చివేతలను అడ్డుకొనుటకును.
