Bhīmasena’s Kalinga Engagement and the Approach of Bhīṣma (भीमसेन-कालिङ्ग-संग्रामः)

केतुना पञ्चतारेण तालेन भरतर्षभ । राजतेन महाबाहुरुच्छितेन महारथे । बभौ भीष्मस्तदा राजंश्नन्द्रमा इव मेरुणा

sañjaya uvāca |

ketunā pañcatāreṇa tālena bharatarṣabha |

rājatena mahābāhur ucchritena mahārathe |

babhau bhīṣmas tadā rājan candramā iva meruṇā ||

సంజయుడు పలికెను—ఓ భరతశ్రేష్ఠా! తాలచిహ్నంతో ముద్రితమై, వెండి కాంతితో మెరిసే ఐదు తారల అలంకారాలతో కూడిన ఎత్తైన ధ్వజంతో, మహాబాహువు భీష్ముడు మహారథంపై ఆసీనుడై అప్పుడు మేరు శిఖరంపై నిలిచిన చంద్రునివలె ప్రకాశించెను.
