भीष्म उवाच नैनं पश्यामि कौन्तेय यो मां युध्यन्तमाहवे । विजयेत पुमान् कश्रित् साक्षादपि शतक्रतु:,भीष्मने कहा--कुन्तीनन्दन! मैं ऐसे किसी वीरको नहीं देखता, जो संग्रामभूमिमें युद्ध करते समय मुझे पराजित कर सके। युद्धकालमें कोई पुरुष, साक्षात् इन्द्र ही क्यों न हो, मुझे परास्त नहीं कर सकता
bhīṣma uvāca
nainaṃ paśyāmi kaunteya yo māṃ yudhyantam āhave |
vijayet pumān kaścit sākṣād api śatakratuḥ ||
భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు—కౌంతేయా! యుద్ధభూమిలో నేను యుద్ధం చేస్తున్నప్పుడు నన్ను ఓడించగల వీరుణ్ని నేను చూడడం లేదు. యుద్ధకాలంలో ఏ పురుషుడూ—సాక్షాత్తు శతక్రతువు ఇంద్రుడైనా—నన్ను జయించలేడు।
