Educational Q&A

Begin with sense-restraint; unchecked desire (kāma) corrupts both understanding (jñāna) and practical discernment (vijñāna). Ethical clarity depends on disciplining the senses before desire gains control.

In the Gītā discourse on the battlefield, the instruction culminates in a practical directive to Arjuna: restrain the senses first and thereby defeat desire, portrayed as an inner adversary that veils wisdom and leads to moral failure.
