Karma-Yoga, Yajña-Cakra, and the Governance of Desire (कर्मयोग–यज्ञचक्र–कामनिग्रह)

भीष्मद्रोणप्रमुखत: सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम्‌ | उवाच पार्थ पश्यैतान्‌ समवेतान्‌ कुरूनिति

sañjaya uvāca | bhīṣma-droṇa-pramukhataḥ sarveṣāṃ ca mahīkṣitām | uvāca pārtha paśyaitān samavetān kurūn iti ||

భీష్మద్రోణుల సమక్షంలో, సమస్త రాజుల ఎదుట (కృష్ణుడు) పలికెను—“ఓ పార్థా! యుద్ధార్థం సమవేతులైన ఈ కౌరవులను చూడు.”

Educational Q&A

The verse compels direct moral seeing: before acting, one must face the full reality of one’s choices. Krishna’s instruction to ‘behold’ places Arjuna before his elders and kin, intensifying the ethical tension between personal attachment and dharmic duty.

Sanjaya reports to Dhritarashtra that Krishna positions Arjuna’s chariot between the two armies, directly before Bhishma and Drona and in view of the assembled kings, and tells Arjuna to look at the Kurus gathered for battle.
