भीष्मस्य जलप्रार्थना — अर्जुनस्य पर्जन्यास्त्रप्रयोगः — दुर्योधनं प्रति सन्ध्युपदेशः

न शशंसुर्जयं तत्र तावका: पुरुषर्षभा: । उन दोनों महामनस्वी पाण्डव बन्धुओंको एकत्र हुआ देख आपकी सेनाके श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंने वहाँ अपनी विजयकी आशा त्याग दी

సంజయుడు పలికెను—అక్కడ మీ పక్షంలోని శ్రేష్ఠ వీరులు విజయాన్ని ప్రకటించలేదు. ఆ ఇద్దరు మహామనస్కులైన పాండవ సోదరులు ఏకమై నిలిచినదాన్ని చూచి, వారు అక్కడే విజయాశను విడిచిరి।
