भीष्मस्य शरशय्या-प्राप्तिः
Bhīṣma’s Fall to the Arrow-Bed
दुःशासनो5पि परया शक्त्या पार्थमवारयत् | कथं भीष्म॑ न नो हन्यादिति निश्चित्य भारत,भारत! उस समय दुःशासन भी यह निश्चय करके कि ये किसी प्रकार हमारे भीष्मको मार न सकें, पूरी शक्ति लगाकर अर्जुनको रोकनेका प्रयत्न करता रहा
sañjaya uvāca | duḥśāsano 'pi parayā śaktyā pārtham avārayat | kathaṃ bhīṣmaṃ na no hanyād iti niścitya bhārata ||
సంజయుడు పలికెను—భారతా! ‘మన భీష్ముడు ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోనూ హతుడవకూడదు’ అని నిశ్చయించుకొని దుశ్శాసనుడు కూడా పరమశక్తితో పార్థుని (అర్జునుని) అడ్డుకునేందుకు యత్నించాడు।
