Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the dharmic importance of safeguarding lineage and social continuity: even after catastrophic loss, the birth of a rightful heir becomes a moral and political restoration, preserving inherited duties, rites, and responsibility.

In the post-war context, the Kuru line is on the verge of extinction. The narrator points out that Abhimanyu’s son has been born at this critical moment, ensuring the survival of the dynasty and enabling the continuation of royal and familial obligations.
