हस्व॑ दीर्घ कृशं स्थूलं चतुरस््र तु वृत्तवत् । एवं द्वादशविस्तारं तेजसो रूपमुच्यते
hrasvaṁ dīrghaṁ kṛśaṁ sthūlaṁ caturasraṁ tu vṛttavat | evaṁ dvādaśa-vistāraṁ tejaso rūpam ucyate ||
వాయుదేవుడు పలికెను— తేజస్సు యొక్క రూపం ద్వాదశ విధాల విస్తారముగా చెప్పబడింది: అది కొన్నిసార్లు హ్రస్వముగా లేదా దీర్ఘముగా, కొన్నిసార్లు కృశముగా లేదా స్థూలముగా, కొన్నిసార్లు చతురస్రముగా, మరికొన్నిసార్లు వృత్తాకారముగా కనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ విధమైన విభిన్న పరిమాణాలు, ఆకారాల ద్వారానే ‘తేజస్’ స్వరూపము ఉచ్ఛరింపబడుతుంది.
