देशकालावुभौ केचिन्नैतदस्तीति चापरे । जटाजिनधराश्रान्ये मुण्डा: केचिदसंवृता:,कितने ही लोग देश और कालकी सत्ता मानते हैं। दूसरे लोग कहते हैं कि इनकी सत्ता नहीं है। कोई जटा और मृगचर्म धारण करनेवाले हैं, कोई सिर मुडाते हैं और कोई दिगम्बर रहते हैं

deśa-kālāv ubhau kecin naitad astīti cāpare | jaṭājinadharāḥ anye muṇḍāḥ kecid asaṃvṛtāḥ ||

వాయువు పలికెను— “కొందరు దేశము, కాలము—ఈ రెండింటి సత్తాను అంగీకరించుదురు; మరికొందరు ‘ఇవి లేవు’ అని చెప్పుదురు. కొందరు జటలు, మృగచర్మము ధరించుదురు; కొందరు ముండనము చేసుకొందురు; మరికొందరు వస్త్రరహితులై దిగంబరులుగా ఉండుదురు.”
