Adhyāya 42 — Mahābhūta–Indriya–Adhyātma-Vyavasthā

Brahmā’s Instruction on Elements and Faculties

बुद्धीन्द्रियाणि पठ्चाहु: पञ्च कर्मेन्द्रियाणि च । श्रोत्रादीन्‍्यपि पज्चाहुर्बुद्धियुक्तानि तत्त्वतः

buddhīndriyāṇi pañcāhuḥ pañca karmendriyāṇi ca | śrotrādīny api pañcāhur buddhiyuktāni tattvataḥ ||

వాయుదేవుడు అన్నాడు— ‘ఐదు జ్ఞానేంద్రియాలు, ఐదు కర్మేంద్రియాలు అని చెబుతారు. తత్త్వంగా శ్రోత్రాది ఐదు, వివేకంతో యుక్తమైనవిగా, జ్ఞానేంద్రియాలు; వాటికి భిన్నమైన మిగిలిన ఐదు కర్మేంద్రియాలు.’
