हेतूनां साधन चैव शृणु सर्वमशेषत: । घ्राणं जिद्दा च चक्षुश्न त्वक्‌ च श्रोत्रं च पठचमम्‌ | मनो बुद्धिश्व सप्तैते विज्ञेया गुणहेतव:,इनके जो हेतु हैं, उन्हें युक्तियोंद्वारा सिद्ध किया जाता है। वह सब पूर्णरूपसे सुनो। प्राण (नासिका), जिद्ला, नेत्र, त्वचा, पाँचवाँ कान तथा मन और बुद्धि--ये सात कारणरूप हेतु गुणमय जानने चाहिये

hetūnāṃ sādhanaṃ caiva śṛṇu sarvam aśeṣataḥ | ghrāṇaṃ jihvā ca cakṣuś ca tvak ca śrotraṃ ca pañcamam | mano buddhiś ca saptaite vijñeyā guṇa-hetavaḥ ||

వాటి హేతువులనూ సాధనమునూ సమస్తమును, ఏదియు విడువక వినుము. ఘ్రాణము, జిహ్వ, చక్షువు, త్వకు, ఐదవది శ్రోత్రము; అలాగే మనస్సు, బుద్ధి—ఈ ఏడు గుణహేతువులుగా తెలిసికొనవలెను।
