इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आश्वमेधिकपववके अन्तर्गत अश्वमेधपर्वमें चौदहवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

dharmeṇa rājñā dharmajña prāptaṃ rājyam akaṇṭakam | dharmeṇa nihataḥ saṅkhye sa ca rājā suyodhanaḥ ||

హే ధర్మజ్ఞా! రాజు యుధిష్ఠిరుడు ధర్మబలంతోనే ఈ కంటకరహిత రాజ్యాన్ని పొందెను; అలాగే ధర్మఫలితంగా యుద్ధరంగంలో రాజు సుయోధనుడు (దుర్యోధనుడు) హతుడయ్యెను.
