कृत्वाग्नौकरणं पूर्व मन्त्रपूर्व तपोधन । ततो5ग्नये5थ सोमाय वरुणाय च नित्यश:

Transliteration

kṛtvāgnaukaraṇaṃ pūrvaṃ mantrapūrva tapodhana | tato 'gnaye 'tha somāya varuṇāya ca nityaśaḥ ||

Translation

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ తపోధన! వేదమంత్రోచ్చారణపూర్వకంగా ముందుగా అగ్నౌకరణాన్ని పూర్తి చేసి, ఆపై నిత్యముగా అగ్నికి, సోమునికి, వరుణునికి వారి నియత భాగాలను విధిపూర్వకంగా సమర్పించవలెను; ఈ క్రమానుసార పూజ ధర్మాధారమైన దేవశక్తులను నిలుపును.
