The Duty to Fulfill Promised Gifts
अपि चोदाहरन्तीमं धर्मशास्त्रविदो जना: । अश्वानां श्यामकर्णानां सहस्रेण स मुच्यते
api codāharantīmaṁ dharmaśāstravido janāḥ | aśvānāṁ śyāmakarṇānāṁ sahasreṇa sa mucyate ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను— ఇంకా, ధర్మశాస్త్రజ్ఞులు ఈ ఉదాహరణను కూడా చెబుతారు: ప్రతిజ్ఞాభంగ పాపంలో పడిన వాడు, శ్యామకర్ణ (నల్ల చెవులు గల) గుర్రాలు వెయ్యి దానం చేస్తే ఆ దోషం నుండి విముక్తుడవుతాడు.
