Phala of Vrata, Niyama, Svādhyāya, Dama, Satya, Brahmacarya, and Service (व्रत-नियम-स्वाध्याय-दम-सत्य-ब्रह्मचर्य-शुश्रूषा-फलप्रश्नः)

ऋषिरुद्दालकिर्दीक्षामुपगम्य तत: सुतम्‌ । त्वं मामुपचरस्वेति नाचिकेतमभाषत,एक समय उद्दालक ऋषिने यज्ञकी दीक्षा लेकर अपने पुत्र नाचिकेतसे कहा--“तुम मेरी सेवामें रहो।”

ṛṣir uddālakir dīkṣām upagamya tataḥ sutam | tvaṃ mām upacarasveti nāciketam abhāṣata ||

భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు—ఒకసారి ఋషి ఉద్దాలకుడు యజ్ఞదీక్షను స్వీకరించి, తన కుమారుడు నాచికేతునితో—“నన్ను ఉపచరించుము; నా సేవలో ఉండుము” అని పలికెను।
