Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)
देवा ऊचु भगवंस्त्व॑ प्रभुर्भूमे: सर्वस्य त्रिदिवस्य च । यजेमहि महाभाग यज्ञ भवदनुज्ञया
devā ūcuḥ: bhagavaṁs tvaṁ prabhur bhūmeḥ sarvasya tridivasya ca | yajemahe mahābhāga yajñaṁ bhavad-anujñayā ||
దేవతలు పలికిరి— “భగవన్! మహాభాగ! మీరు భూమికీ సమస్త స్వర్గలోకానికీ అధిపతి; కావున మీ అనుజ్ఞతో మేము భూమిపై యజ్ఞం నిర్వహించుదుము.”
भीष्म उवाच
Even divine beings frame their actions within rightful authorization: sacrifice and religious acts are to be undertaken in harmony with legitimate lordship and consent, reflecting dharma as ordered, accountable conduct rather than mere power.
The gods address a supreme lord (as master of earth and heaven) and request/acknowledge his permission to conduct a sacrifice on earth, emphasizing reverence and proper sanction before initiating a major ritual.
