भीष्म उवाच
As a colophon, the verse itself does not add new doctrine; it frames the completed unit as part of Dānadharma—ethical instruction on giving—implying that the preceding dialogue should be read as guidance on righteous generosity and its standards within dharma.
Bhīṣma marks the conclusion of the fifty-third chapter in the Dānadharma section of Anuśāsana Parva, identifying its subject as the dialogue between the sage Cyavana and Kuśika and formally closing that instructional episode.
