इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत अनुशासनपववके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें च्यवन और कुशिकका संवादविषयक बावनवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,स्निग्धगम्भीरया वाचा भार्गव: सुप्रसन्नया । ददानि वां वर श्रेष्ठ तं ब्र्‌तामिति भारत भारत! भृगुपुत्र च्यवन उस समय स्नेह और प्रसन्नतासे युक्त गम्भीर वाणीमें बोले--'मैं तुम दोनोंको उत्तम वर देना चाहता हूँ, बतलाओ क्‍या दूँ?”

snigdha-gambhīrayā vācā bhārgavaḥ suprasannayā | dadāni vāṃ varaśreṣṭhaṃ taṃ brūtām iti bhārata ||

అనంతరం భార్గవుడు చ్యవనుడు స్నేహభరితమైన, గంభీరమైన, అత్యంత ప్రసన్నమైన వాణితో పలికాడు—“ఓ భారతా! నేను మీ ఇద్దరికీ శ్రేష్ఠమైన వరం ఇవ్వదలిచాను; చెప్పండి, ఏమి ఇవ్వాలి?”
