यथाशक्ति यथोत्साहं भार्या तामभ्यरक्षत | महामुनि देवशर्मा नारियोंके चरित्रको जानते थे; अतः वे यथाशक्ति उत्साहपूर्वक उसकी रक्षा करते थे ।। पुरन्दरं च जानीते परस्त्रीकामचारिणम्
yathāśakti yathotsāhaṃ bhāryā tām abhyarakṣat | mahāmunir devaśarmā nārīṇāṃ ca caritraṃ jānīte; ataḥ sa yathāśakti utsāhapūrvakaṃ tasyā rakṣāṃ karoti sma || purandaraṃ ca jānīte parastrī-kāma-cāriṇam ||
యథాశక్తి యథోత్సాహంగా అతడు తన భార్యను కాపాడెను. మహాముని దేవశర్ముడు నారీచరిత్రాన్ని బాగా తెలిసినవాడు; అందుచేత తన శక్తి మేరకు ఉత్సాహంతో ఆమెకు రక్షణ కల్పించెను. అలాగే పురందరుడు (ఇంద్రుడు) పరస్త్రీకామచారిగా సంచరించువాడని కూడా అతనికి తెలుసు.
