शम्बर उवाच नासूयामि यदा वित्रान्‌ ब्राह्ममेव च मे मतम्‌ । शास्त्राणि वदतो विप्रान्‌ सम्मन्यामि यथासुखम्‌

Transliteration

śambara uvāca | nāsūyāmi yadā viprān brāhmam eva ca me matam | śāstrāṇi vadato viprān samman yāmi yathāsukham |

Translation

శంబరుడు పలికెను—నేను బ్రాహ్మణులలో ఎప్పుడూ దోషం చూడను; వారికి అసూయ చేయను. బ్రాహ్మమైనదే నా అభిప్రాయం. శాస్త్రాలను బోధించే విప్రులను నేను గౌరవించి, యథాశక్తి వారికి సుఖసహాయాలు చేయుదును.
