भूस्थै: स्वःस्थैर्दिविष्ठै क्ष भूतिरुच्चावचैरपि । गड्जा विगाह्मया सततमेतत्‌ कार्यतमं सताम्‌,पृथ्वी, आकाश तथा स्वर्गमें रहनेवाले छोटे-बड़े सभी प्राणियोंको चाहिये कि वे निरन्तर गंगाजीमें स्नान करें। यही सत्पुरुषोंका सबसे उत्तम कार्य है

bhūsthaiḥ svaḥsthair diviṣṭhaiś ca bhūtīr uccāvacair api | gaṅgāyāṃ vigāhya satatam etat kāryatamaṃ satām ||

భూమిలో, ఆకాశంలో, స్వర్గలోకంలో నివసించే ఉన్నత-నీచ సమస్త ప్రాణులు నిరంతరం గంగలో స్నానం చేయవలెను; ఇదే సత్పురుషుల అత్యుత్తమ కర్తవ్యమని చెప్పబడింది.
