मेने दिविष्ठमात्मानं तुष्टया परमया युत:ः । शुद्ध अन्तःकरणवाले उन ऋषि-मुनियोंकी बातें सुनकर भीष्मजी बहुत संतुष्ट हुए और अपनेको स्वर्गमें ही स्थित मानने लगे

Vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca: mene divi-stham ātmānaṃ tuṣṭyā paramayā yutaḥ.

వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—పరమ తృప్తితో యుక్తుడైన భీష్ముడు తనను తాను స్వర్గంలోనే స్థితుడనిగా భావించాడు. శుద్ధాంతఃకరణులైన ఋషుల వచనాలు విని అతడు అత్యంత సంతుష్టుడయ్యాడు.
