Educational Q&A

Devotion (bhakti) should lead religious action: the sacrifice becomes meaningful when the divine Lord of the sacrifice is placed foremost, indicating inner reverence is primary over mere external performance.

Vāyudeva speaks of his own act of honouring the presiding Lord of sacrifice—placing Him at the forefront—framing the rite as guided by devotion and recognition of the supreme divine authority behind the ritual.
