भीष्म उवाच राजन् विदितधर्मोडसि सुनिर्णीतार्थसंशय: । बहुश्रुता हि ते विप्रा बहव: पर्युपासिता:
bhīṣma uvāca rājann viditadharmo 'si sunirṇītārthasaṁśayaḥ | bahuśrutā hi te viprā bahavaḥ paryupāsitāḥ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజా, నీవు ధర్మాన్ని బాగా తెలిసినవాడవు; జీవనలక్ష్యాల తత్త్వమునకు సంబంధించిన సందేహాలను స్పష్టంగా తీర్చుకున్నావు. నీ మనస్సులో ఇక ఏ అనిశ్చితి లేదు; ఎందుకంటే నీవు అనేక శాస్త్రపారంగత బ్రాహ్మణులను శ్రద్ధతో సేవించి, వారి సాంగత్యం మరియు ఉపదేశం వల్ల లాభం పొందావు.
