Shloka 44

गुरुभ्यस्त्वासनं देयमभिवाद्याभिपूज्य च । गुरुम भ्यर्च्य वर्धन्ते आयुषा यशसा श्रिया

gurubhyas tv āsanaṁ deyam abhivādya abhipūjya ca | gurūn abhyarcya vardhante āyuṣā yaśasā śriyā ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—గురువులు వచ్చినప్పుడు వారికి నమస్కరించి, విధిపూర్వకముగా గౌరవించి పూజించి, కూర్చునుటకు ఆసనం సమర్పించవలెను. గురువును భక్తితో ఆరాధించుట వలన ఆయుష్షు, యశస్సు, శ్రీ—ఇవి వృద్ధి చెందును.
