रुद्रस्य भागं यज्ञे च विशिष्ट ते त्वकल्पयन् | भयेन त्रिदशा राजन् शरणं च प्रपेदिरे,राजन! देवतालोग भयके मारे भगवान् शंकरकी शरणमें गये। उन्होंने यज्ञमें रुद्रके लिये विशिष्ट भागकी कल्पना की (यज्ञावशिष्ट सारी सामग्री रुद्रके अधिकारमें दे दी)
rudrasya bhāgaṃ yajñe ca viśiṣṭa te tv akalpayan | bhayena tridaśā rājan śaraṇaṃ ca prapedire |
వాయువు పలికెను—రాజా! భయంతో దేవతలు శంకరుడైన రుద్రుని శరణు కోరారు. ఆపై యజ్ఞంలో రుద్రునికి ప్రత్యేకమైన, శ్రేష్ఠమైన భాగాన్ని నిర్ణయించి, యజ్ఞావశేషమంతటిని రుద్రుని అధికారం కింద అర్పించారు.
