ब्रह्माण्यं सर्वधर्मज्ञें लोकानां कीर्तिवर्धनम् । लोकनाथं महदभूतं सर्वभूतभवोद्धवम्,ब्राह्मणोंके हितकारी, सब धर्मोको जाननेवाले, प्राणियोंकी कीर्तिको बढ़ानेवाले, सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके स्वामी, समस्त भूतोंके उत्पत्ति-स्थान एवं संसारके कारणरूप परमेश्वरका स्तवन करनेसे मनुष्य सब दु:खोंसे छूट जाता है
bhīṣma uvāca | brahmāṇyaṃ sarvadharmajñaṃ lokānāṃ kīrtivardhanam | lokanāthaṃ mahadbhūtaṃ sarvabhūtabhavodbhavam | brāhmaṇānāṃ hitakārī sarvadharmavidāṃ varam | prāṇināṃ kīrtivardhānaṃ sarvalokamaheśvaram | sarvabhūtodbhava-sthānaṃ saṃsāra-kāraṇa-rūpiṇam | parameśvaraṃ stuvato manuṣyasya sarvaduḥkhāni praṇaśyanti ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—బ్రాహ్మణహితైషి, సమస్త ధర్మజ్ఞుడు, ప్రాణుల కీర్తిని వర్ధింపజేసేవాడు, సమస్త లోకాల నాథుడు, మహత్తర పరమేశ్వరుడు, సమస్త భూతాల ఉద్భవస్థానమైన కారణస్వరూపుడు—ఆ ప్రభువును నిత్యం స్తుతించే వాడు అన్ని దుఃఖాల నుండి విముక్తుడవుతాడు।
