श्वश्रूश्वशुरयो: पादौ जोषयन्ती गुणान्विता । मातापितृपरा नित्यं या नारी सा तपोधना,जो उत्तम गुणोंसे युक्त होकर सदा सास-ससुरके चरणोंकी सेवामें संलग्न रहती है तथा माता-पिताके प्रति भी सदा उत्तम भक्तिभाव रखती है, वह स्त्री तपस्यारूपी धनसे सम्पन्न मानी गयी है। जो नारी ब्राह्मणों, दुर्बलों, अनाथों, दीनों, अन्धों और कृपणों (कंगालों) का अन्नके द्वारा भरण-पोषण करती है, वह पातिव्रतधर्मके पालनका फल पाती है

śvaśrūśvaśurayoḥ pādau joṣayantī guṇānvitā | mātāpitr̥parā nityaṁ yā nārī sā tapodhanā ||

సద్గుణములతో యుక్తురాలై శ్వశ్రూ-శ్వశురుల పాదసేవలో నిత్యం నిమగ్నమై, తన తల్లిదండ్రుల పట్ల కూడా ఎల్లప్పుడూ భక్తి-సమర్పణ కలిగిన స్త్రీ—ఆమె తపస్సు అనే ధనముతో సంపన్నురాలిగా భావింపబడుతుంది।
