अत्रेः तपोबलप्रकाशः तथा च्यवनस्य सोमाधिकारः

उपानहौ च च्छत्र॑ च प्रतिगृह्मौर्ध्वदेहिके । जपेच्छतं समायुक्तस्तेन मुच्येत पाप्मना

upānahau ca chatraṁ ca pratigṛhṇyād ūrdhvadehike | japec chataṁ samāyuktas tena mucyeta pāpmanā ||

భీష్ముడు చెప్పెను—శ్రాద్ధంలోని ఊర్ధ్వదేహిక కర్మ సమయంలో ఎవరు చెప్పులు మరియు గొడుగు ప్రతిగ్రహంగా స్వీకరిస్తారో, వారు మనస్సును ఏకాగ్రం చేసి గాయత్రీ మంత్రాన్ని వందసార్లు జపించాలి; ఆ జపంతో ఆ ప్రతిగ్రహదోష పాపం నుండి విముక్తి పొందుతారు.
