Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
వాసుదేవుడు అన్నాడు—అత్యంత బలవంతుడైన గ్రహుడు దేవతలను వేధించడం ప్రారంభించినప్పుడు, దేవతలు ఒత్తిడిలో ఉన్నప్పటికీ శివుని వరం పొందిన అసురేంద్రులపై ప్రతిఘటించి వారిని కొట్టిపారేశారు; ఈ విధంగా వారి మధ్య దీర్ఘకాలం యుద్ధం కొనసాగింది।
