यदि नाम जन्म भूयो भवति मदीयेै: पुनर्दोषै: । तस्मिंस्तस्मिउजन्मनि भवे भवेन्मे$क्षया भक्ति:,“यदि मेरे दोषोंसे मुझे बारंबार इस जगत्में जन्म लेना पड़े तो मेरी यही इच्छा है कि उस-उस प्रत्येक जन्ममें भगवान्‌ शिवमें मेरी अक्षय भक्ति हो”

yadi nāma janma bhūyo bhavati madīyaiḥ punardoṣaiḥ | tasmiṃs tasmiñ janmani bhave bhave me 'kṣayā bhaktiḥ ||

వాసుదేవుడు పలికెను—నా పునఃపునః దోషాల వల్ల నాకు ఈ లోకమందు మళ్లీ మళ్లీ జన్మ కలగవలసి వచ్చినా, నా కోరిక ఇదే: ఆ ఆ ప్రతి జన్మలో భగవాన్ శివునిపై నా భక్తి అక్షయంగా, అవినాశిగా నిలిచియుండుగాక.
