Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

शत्रुसूदन श्रीकृष्ण! माताका वह उपदेश सुनकर तभीसे महादेवजीके प्रति मेरी सुदृढ़ भक्ति हो गयी ।।

tato 'haṃ tapa āsthāya toṣayāmāsa śaṅkaram | ekaṃ varṣasahasraṃ tu vāmāṅguṣṭhāgravicchitaḥ ||

ఆ తరువాత నేను తపస్సును ఆశ్రయించి శంకరుని ప్రసన్నం చేశాను. పూర్తిగా వెయ్యేళ్లు నేను ఎడమ పాదపు బొటనవేలు అగ్రభాగంపై మాత్రమే ఆధారపడి నిలిచాను.
