Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
नास्ति पुत्र पयो5रण्ये सुरभीगोत्रवर्जिते
nāsti putra payo 'raṇye surabhī-gotra-varjite |
వాసుదేవుడు అన్నాడు—“బిడ్డా! ఈ అరణ్యం సురభీ వంశరహితం; అందుచేత ఇక్కడ పాలే లేదు—ఇక్కడ ఆవులు లేవు. కాబట్టి నదులు, గుహలు, పర్వతాలు, నానావిధ తీర్థాలలో తపస్సు, జపం చేస్తూ నివసించే మేము ఋషులకు పరమాశ్రయం భగవాన్ శంకరుడే.”
