Umā–Maheśvara-saṃvāda: Varṇa-bhraṃśa, Ācāra (Vṛtta), and Karmic Ascent/Decline

विष्णुरुवाच ब्राह्मणानां परीवादो मम विद्वेषणं महत्‌ । ब्राह्मणै: पूजितैर्नित्यं पूजितो5हं न संशय:,भगवान्‌ विष्णु बोले--इन्द्र! ब्राह्मणोंकी निन्दा करना मेरे साथ महान्‌ द्वेष करनेके समान है तथा ब्राह्मणोंकी पूजा करनेसे सदा मेरी भी पूजा हो जाती हैं--इसमें संशय नहीं है

viṣṇur uvāca—brāhmaṇānāṃ parīvādo mama vidveṣaṇaṃ mahat | brāhmaṇaiḥ pūjitair nityaṃ pūjito ’haṃ na saṃśayaḥ ||

భగవాన్ విష్ణువు పలికెను—ఇంద్రా! బ్రాహ్మణులను నిందించడం అనగా నాపై మహా ద్వేషం పెట్టుకున్నట్లే. బ్రాహ్మణులను నిత్యం పూజిస్తే నన్ను కూడా పూజించినట్లే—ఇందులో సందేహం లేదు.
