वाराहं रूपमास्थाय हिरण्याक्षो निपातित: । वामनं रूपमास्थाय जितो राजा मया बलि:

vārāhaṁ rūpam āsthāya hiraṇyākṣo nipātitaḥ | vāmanaṁ rūpam āsthāya jito rājā mayā baliḥ ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఓ రాజా! వరాహరూపం ధరించి హిరణ్యాక్ష దానవుణ్ణి నేనే పడగొట్టితిని; వామన బ్రాహ్మణరూపం ధరించి రాజు బలిని వశపరచితిని।
