प्रविभागं तु पिण्डानां प्रवक्ष्याम्यनुपूर्वश: । पिण्डो हाथस्ताद्‌ गच्छंस्तु अप आविश्य भावयेत्‌

pravibhāgaṃ tu piṇḍānāṃ pravakṣyāmy anupūrvaśaḥ | piṇḍo hāstas tād gacchaṃs tu ap āviśya bhāvayet ||

భీష్ముడు పలికెను— “ఇప్పుడు పిండముల యథాక్రమ విభాగమును చెప్పుదును. శ్రాద్ధకర్మలో మూడు పిండములు విధింపబడినచో, మొదటి పిండమును జలములో అర్పించవలెను; మధ్య పిండమును శ్రాద్ధకర్త భార్య మాత్రమే భుజించవలెను; మూడవ పిండమును అగ్నిలో సమర్పించవలెను.”
