उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

अष्टमेन तु भक्तेन जीवन्‌ संवत्सरं नृप

aṣṭamena tu bhaktena jīvan saṃvatsaraṃ nṛpa

ఓ రాజా! ‘అష్టమ భక్తి’తో సంపూర్ణ ఒక సంవత్సరం జీవన నియమాన్ని నిలబెట్టుకొని ఉండేవాడు, ఆశించిన ధర్మఫలాన్ని పొందుతాడు; ఎందుకంటే దీర్ఘకాలం క్రమబద్ధంగా నిలిచే భక్తియే ధర్మసాధనం.
