Inquiry into the Discipline of Fasting
प्रत्यक्ष भिन्नहृदया भेदयेयु: कृतं नरा: । श्रियाभितप्ता: कौन्तेय भेदकामास्तथारय:
pratyakṣa-bhinnahṛdayā bhedayeyuḥ kṛtaṃ narāḥ | śriyābhitaptāḥ kaunteya bhedakāmās tathārayāḥ ||
భీష్ముడు పలికెను—పెద్ద సోదరుడు బహిరంగంగా అపరాధానికి శిక్ష విధిస్తే, చిన్నవారి హృదయాలు చీలిపోతాయి; ఆ కఠిన వ్యవహారాన్ని వారు జనులలో ప్రచారం చేస్తారు. అప్పుడు వారి సంపదను చూసి అసూయతో మండే అనేక శత్రువులు, ఓ కౌంతేయా, వారిలో విభేదం కలిగించాలని కోరుతారు।
